Restaurant websites,
built around the menu.

Most people who look up a restaurant want three things: the menu, the hours and a way to book or order. We design restaurant websites that put those first on a phone and keep them easy to change.

01  Your customersWhy they visit

What your customers came to do.

  1. 01

    Check you're open

Right now, tonight, or on the holiday Monday. People trust whichever hours they see first, so the site and Google have to agree.

  2. 02

Read the menu on a phone

Standing on the sidewalk or sitting in the car. A PDF that needs pinching and zooming loses them.

  3. 03

    Book a table or order

Without calling during the dinner rush, and without a delivery app taking a cut of every order.

  4. 04

    Find you and park

An address that opens in their maps app, plus what the map won't tell them: the side entrance, parking, step-free access.

02  Must-haves5 things

What a restaurant website needs to do.

01

A menu that's easy to update

The menu is a real page, not a PDF, laid out for phones. Dishes, prices and specials are quick to change, and search engines can read every item. From Business up, the package includes an admin so you can edit it yourself.

02

Reservations or online ordering

Table bookings go to your inbox or the reservation system you already use. For pickup and delivery, Rift Order takes orders on your own site and sends them to a kitchen screen, with no marketplace commission.

03

Google Business Profile, linked up

We connect the site to your Google Business Profile and add the structured data search engines use for restaurants: cuisine, price range and a link to the menu.

04

Opening hours that match everywhere

One set of hours, holiday hours included, on the site and on your Google profile, so nobody turns up to a locked door because two listings disagreed.

05

Food photos that still load fast

Good photos sell the table, but full-size images crawl on a weak signal. Every photo is resized and compressed so the menu page opens quickly on a phone.

Add the site assistant and it answers menu and hours questions and adds up orders from your prices.Watch it answer →

What we'd suggest.

Starter covers the pages a restaurant needs (home, menu, about, private events, contact) with your hours, map and Google profile linked. Online booking adds reservations, and the local search pack is for places competing with a lot of restaurants nearby.

Need to edit the menu yourself every week? Business ($2,500) adds an admin you run from your phone. Want pickup and delivery orders on your own site? Ask about Rift Order and we'll quote it with the site.

05  Questions

What restaurants ask us.

Short answers to what comes up before a project starts.

Ask something else →
01Can customers order food from our own website?

Yes. Rift Order puts ordering for pickup and delivery on your own site, with a kitchen screen that chimes on new orders and a map so customers can follow the driver. Orders don't go through a marketplace, so there's no commission on each one. Try the demo on this page; we quote it alongside the site.

02Should our menu be a PDF?

We'd avoid it. A PDF is slow to open on a phone, hard to read without zooming, and search engines read it poorly. We build the menu as a normal page. If you like having a printable version too, we link one from it.

03Will our hours show correctly on Google?

That depends on your Google Business Profile, which is why we set it up to match the site, holiday hours included. When your hours change, update both on the same day, or someone will turn up to a closed door.
